A new app lets users shoot, edit and share video similar to how Instagram does with mobile photos. You can even apply music and cool visual effects to the video, and see yours and your friends’ videos on their homepage feed. The app is called Viddy, and FMM thinks it will be especially hot with the fashion set.
Viddy, named “App Of The Week” by iPhone, recently raised $6M in funding, allowing it to soon expand to other platforms (like Android phones and tablets).
CEO and co-founder Brett O’Brien:
“We continue to be excited by the growth and engagement of the Viddy community, and by the visually entertaining quality of videos created and shared around the world every day. Given the incredible growth numbers that we have seen, we’re looking forward to making Viddy available on more platforms and to more users globally.”
Learn more about Viddy at their website, or just wait until it blows up like Instagram did. We prefer the latter, as being last on the train is never fun.
(Off-the-cuff prediction: If Viddy gets to be as popular as insiders say it will, it’s possible Instagram and Viddy will merge to form one formidable mobile media app).
