We were kind of already in love with artistswanted.org as it is, but their latest project, Art Takes Times Square, was especially cool. In general, the group is constantly coming up with ways to promote the freshest creative talent, not to mention, they offer artists free, slickly designed portfolio sites–something no artist should be without. Artists Wanted’s very well executed competitions and exhibitions bring the work of up n’ comers to the forefront of the art world, and with a tagline that says “Great Talent Deserves Endless Attention” we tend to think that they genuiunely believe in what they’re peddling.
The latest endeavor by the innovative group, Art Takes Times Square, was a global call for artists to submit work to be voted for online, culminating in a one-night-only art show via Times Square billboards on June 18th. In turn, the online voting aspect created a massive social media campaign around the project, as artists and their friends rallied for support to be among the final selection of artists shown. Way cool!
